Craig Taylor
Craig Taylor displayed the symptoms of an engineer at an early age, building everything from soap box cars to water skis. Trained as a Mechanical Engineer (University of Wisconsin-Madison, 1965), Craig was chased into the U.S. Naval Aviation program by his draft board and the Viet Nam war. He flew the A-7attack aircraft off the aircraft carrier Ticonderoga and then headed for a twenty-year corporate aviation career.

Motor racing was Craig’s first love and a twenty-year amateur racing career (Formula Ford and F2000) accompanied the corporate gig. The racing experience was highlighted by multiple divisional and two national championships: 1990 SCCA National Champion in F2000 and the following year in the USAC Professional F2000 championship. Craig considers those twenty years as building blocks for the development of Taylor Race Engineering, of which he is the President and Chief Engineer.

Marcie Taylor - is by title, Secretary-Treasurer
Marcie Taylor is responsible for the administrative and financial side of Taylor Race Engineering. Craig also describes Marcie as “the keeper of the corporate culture”. That probably has something to do with being the only woman at Taylor Race!

Born in Madison, Wisconsin, and educated as a librarian at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Marcie found herself drawn into the business when Craig, then a corporate pilot, was on the road and unable to handle customer requests. It was a nice way to have a “job” at home, while their twins, Kiersten and Seth, were in school. For Marcie, this part time job has expanded into a career in business.

Dan Taylor - Lead Technician
Dan Taylor was a customer long before he was the lead technician for Taylor Race Engineering. With eighteen years of formula sports racer and production car preparation experience (with Bill Schlossnagel in the San Diego area), Dan was an important addition to our service department. To his special credit, Dan was the chief mechanic to American City Racing League championship runner up driver, Dick Gamble & Margie Smith Haas in 1988 & 1993, as well as 1994 Championship driver Margie Smith Haas. In 1988 & 1994 Dan was named ACRL Mechanic of the Year.

In addition to his responsibilities at Taylor Race, Dan and Jeanie Taylor crew for their son Joe, a successful North Texas Go Kart racer. Now, that’s important work!
Dan brings a wealth of racecar knowledge to Taylor Race Engineering.

Terry Fowler - Customer Service/Catalog Development
Beginning his career with Taylor Race Engineering in 1996 as shipping/receiving clerk, Terry served as the purchasing agent for many years. Currently Terry is Customer Service Director, as well as Technical Sales person and Catalog Development coordinator. Terry’s quiet competence and attention to detail make him a great asset to Taylor Race.

Terry is the only native Texan on our staff (and this is important stuff in these parts), growing up just down the road in Garland. Terry and Marilyn Fowler have a house full of irresistible puppies and enjoying travel in their free time.

Terry has taught us a lot and we look forward to many more years of working together.

Darin Lockhart - Shipping/Packaging Manager
Darin Lockhart, who hails from Oklahoma City, is responsible for the shipping and packaging of our parts and service departments. Darin came to Taylor Race with seven years of shipping experience in the Dallas area and drew on that experience to solve the unique "palletizing" needs of our service department.

Darin, an avid race fan, grew up watching Nascar and Indy cars on the television, as well as attending local dirt tract events. With a special interest in water sports, you can find Darin and Robin at the "lake" or on the "river" more often that not.
Taylor Race Engineering appreciates the important role Darin fills in our organization.

Scott Young - Technical Sales
Scott Young grew up in an Army family stationed all over the U.S. but he has called the Dallas area home for most of his adult life. With a machinist's background, and a love of motor sports, Scott has worked for a number of race related businesses in the Metroplex. He has been associated with Sprint Cars, Modifieds and NHRA drag racing.
Scott's specialty with Taylor Race Engineering (besides being a heck of a salesman and a genuinely nice guy) is the Formula SAE parts the company has developed for the engineering student competition. Watch for Scott at the track as he also does customer support at the Pro Mazda events, FSAE competition, as well as coordinating the Taylor Race Engineering display at the Performance Racing Industry show.
Scott ran an American Sedan for 6 seasons in SCCA finishing 2nd in points in the Southwest Division before switching over to the Spec Miata ranks.

Scott and Becky live in Flower Mound, Texas with their two children, "a handsome boy and a beautiful little girl", and two very large Labador Retrievers. We consider it a privilege to have Scott Young as a part of Taylor Race sales team.

David Tuttle - Inventory Manager
David Tuttle, a transplant to Texas from his native state of Ohio, spent most of his adult life in the US Army's 82nd Airborne Division. David began his military career rebuilding automatic and manual transmission, transfer cases and driveline components.  Before leaving the Army, he was the operations director for a large production facility which prepared all military vehicles for air drop.

At Taylor Race Engineering David manages the inventory and purchasing function. With a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, David is well suited to the job.
No racing experience to date, however, with three extremely active boys at home, David and Melinda may have a future racer in the Tuttle family! David enjoys watching NHRA events and rebuilds and customizes classic Chevy muscle cars.

We are very proud of David's military service and delighted to have his leadership in the important task of inventory management.

Keith Gosnay - Technician/Intern
Keith Gosnay grew up in Plano, Texas and is currently a pre-engineering student at Collin County Community College, with the hope of participating in the Formula SAE program at the University of Texas-Arlington, the birthplace and multi-time winner of the student racecar competition.

Keith has been a fine addition to our shop, performing various tasks from preparing transmissions for service to actually learning the procedures of blueprinting and rebuilding. When Taylor Race Engineering had a need for website and catalog photographs, Keith jumped in with the camera and computer and made it happen.

With a WRX Subaru as a rolling test bed, Keith continues to learn and hone his mechanical skills.

Carl Correll - Technician
Carl Correll, a native Californian, is the latest addition to the TRE staff. Carl brings excellent mechanical skills to the Service Department and a wealth of racing experience (and, by the way, he too was a customer long before he was a coworker).
Carl was the Lead Mechanic for the 1989 championship Ralt American Bosch VW Super Vee Team and the gearbox mechanic (we especially like that gearbox stuff) with the Budweiser/Truesports Indycar & Colin Trueman Indy Lights team. Carl also specialized in the transmission side of racing with the Pennzoil/Jim Hall Indycar team and Lead Mechanic with the Scandia/Perry Ellis IMSA GTP, Randy Owens "Art Cars".

As a racing service center owner, Carl fielded an ACRL S2000 championship team and was named "mechanic of the year" in 2000 and 2001. All of this fine experience really shows up in Carl's work at Taylor Race Engineering.

In addition to being a very pleasant guy to have around, Carl is teaching us all about the American roots music of the Mississippi Delta. Thanks, Carl, for making the move to the South!
